Sometimes,
I wish I was a cow,
Grazing on a hillside and
Kneeling in the soft grass to
Protect me from tears of rain...
But then I remember,
Sometimes, cows become hamburger.
Sometimes,
I wish I had a flat tongue,
Like that of a dog
Lapping water by the scoop and
Licking ice cream by the gallon and
Looking so very unique and cool...
But then I remember,
Sometimes, girls don't like dog kisses.
Sometimes,
I wish I was a someone,
Or an anyone other than
The me that I am, who
Can not keep up and who
May not stay in but who
Will not give in, or up...
But then I remember,
Sometimes, that
I am uniquely cool and
I kneel in the protection of God,
Who created me to be,
Just who and as I am.
